JUPEB Exam Format: 50 Objectives and 8 Essay Questions
Knowing the shape of the paper before exam day saves time and nerves. Here is how a JUPEB subject paper is set out.
Paper I: objectives and essays
For every subject, Paper I has two sections (source: UNIZIK JUPEB):
- Section A: 50 multiple-choice (objective) questions.
- Section B: 8 essay (theory) questions.
Paper II: practicals
Subjects with practical work, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, also have a Paper II practical skills examination. Arts, humanities, management and social science subjects take Paper I only.
How to prepare for each section
Objectives: speed and accuracy. Work through full sets of 50 under time, and learn the shortcuts in the worked answers.
Essays: method marks. Write every step, state the law or formula you use, and give units. The Mayrif Series answers are laid out the way markers award marks.
